As soon as they become available, Dell OptiPlex series promptly deploys the latest technologies into the upcoming production line while constantly perfecting and improving its power efficiency management. Dell OptiPlex meets demanding criteria for prestigious certifications 80PLUS®, ENERGY STAR® 4.0 and EPEATTM Gold configurations.
Users receive systems that are fitted with a range of software tools designed for computer administration. Even user without deep hardware knowledge may use these tools for remote administration, immediate diagnosis or fixture of occurred incidents. Diagnostics LED scale DirectDetect located on the front side of every OptiPlex system indicates computer health and briefly tests major system components at every start. Part of hard drive is dedicated for a special diagnostics partition with an installed graphics subsystem. Individual computer parts may be easily checked within and thoroughly tested with a click of mouse.

Exceptional design of a computer chassis accentuates its unique craftsmanship. Major improvements involve tool-less (e.g. without using a screwdriver) chassis dismantling and replacement of malfunctioning computer parts. Innovative look of BTX chassis is in accord both with a workplace stability and corporate image. Four different chassis choices provide broad usage options even at space-constrained environment, such as points of sale or multimedia centers.
A part of BTX chassis design includes patented technology HyperCool SystemTM. Based on a flexible adjustment of fans rotations located inside the chassis, this technology provides an adequate cooling at lower power consumption and reduced noise level. Instant flow of fresh air is sucked in through the grid bezel at the front, comes through the entire chassis and cools down all vital parts inside and finally leaves through the rear side.
Easier management and faster fault detection saves repair time and reduces work time lost. Primary chassis features (power supply, motherboard) further reduce running costs by a significant lowering of a power draw and fulfill strict environment specifics.

Thanks to the functionalities of the technology you can remotely boot and test unresponsive system from a management console, and then take remedial action without time-consuming deskside visits or user intevention. Another important feature of Intel vPro consists of the hardware-assisted antivirus protection of Execute Disable Bit protecting your computers against certain viruses that use buffer overflow attacks

Because these capabilities are built into the hardware, Intel vPro technology is independent on installed operating system - or hard drive presence in the computer. Management and inventory of the computers equipped with this technology are easier and do not require user intervention.
Data stored on the hard drive can be protected either physically (chassis lock Kensigton) or via automated encryption of the entire hard drive contents.
